The President Invites Families of Shot National Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the White House.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Devastating Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.

White House Call

The president said he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both members of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump told journalists. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Community members gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to support law enforcement in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the individual that teachers hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Service arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the administration to suspend refugee claims and halt providing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

Attorney general the attorney general informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to the family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had bravery,” the governor informed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
