It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit kick in and you completely engage with the match."

A single came off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
