Information Available Regarding the Victims of the Bondi Terrorist Incident
A minimum of 16 lives were killed and over 40 were wounded when assailants opened fire at a Hanukkah event at Bondi Beach, an attack local police have called a terrorist attack.
According to the most recent information, officials have stated the death toll is 16, including one of the suspected gunmen. Furthermore, 42 people with injuries were admitted to medical facilities.
The deceased have not yet been officially identified, but authorities state their ages span between 10 and 87 years of age.

Eli Schlanger
Originally from London clergyman Eli Schlanger, 41, was the first victim to be named.
Reportedly a father-of-five, he served as the assistant rabbi at a local Jewish cultural centre. Relatives and acquaintances spoke of him as āvivacious, energetic, full of life and a very kind and sociable person who was dedicated to assisting othersā.
āHow is it possible that a happy rabbi who went to a beach to share joy and positivity, to make the world a better place, meet his end in this way?ā a family member said.
Schlanger and his wife had recently celebrated the birth of their newest son just a few months ago.
Alexander Kleytman
Alexander Kleytman was also confirmed among the deceased, as stated by his wife.
She recounted the events before the attack, explaining they had been standing together when the shooting began. āHe moved to protect me because he wished to be near me,ā she recalled.
The pair were both survivors of the Holocaust, having experienced unspeakable terror in their youth. They had later relocated to Australia from Eastern Europe.
Dan Elkayam
The French foreign ministry have confirmed that French national Dan Elkayam is among the dead.
Publicly, a senior official declared that France shared the grief of his family, the Jewish community, and the Australian people.
āThis cowardly attack is a fresh and tragic example of a disgusting rise of hatred against Jews that we must combat,ā the statement read.
One Child
A 10-year-old girl who was rushed to the Sydney Childrenās Hospital is among those who had died, police have confirmed.
One Israeli Citizen
One victim from Israel was among those killed during the attack, according to multiple sources citing the Israeli foreign ministry.
Those Injured
From the 42 people transported to hospitals, many remain receiving treatment, with a number in a critical state. The injured comprise two police officers who responded to the attack.
A wounded man is a member of the public who rushed to the scene to tackle one of the attackers. Called a local hero, he sustained bullet wounds but is recovering well in hospital.
Arsen Ostrovsky
Among the injured is Arsen Ostrovsky, a community leader. Sources state he was injured and underwent treatment in hospital.
Communicating, he described the scene as an āutter carnage,ā but also noted the actions of those who rushed to help. He said he felt it was a āmiracleā he was alive.
Evan Zlatkis
Evan Zlatkis, a media director, was also injured in the attack. He described he listened to ādozens and dozensā of shots.
āI thought it was something less lethal, but it penetrated my own skin and into my leg,ā he stated. āIāve been shot myself. They bandaged me up. Iām ok.ā
