Former Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
