Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions in 2025 because of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

Those preparations will include trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has affected her at times this year.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally for the first time in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved 28 victories in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
