Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
